Aerostar Targets Growth With New Facility

Romanian company plans another MRO base for Airbus and Boeing narrowbodies.

Romania’s Aerostar is in negotiations with the airport authorities of Iași to construct a new four-bay maintenance facility to accommodate Airbus A320 family and a mix of Boeing 737 Classic and New Generation aircraft.

If approved, the overhaul facility is scheduled for a summer 2019 opening and grows its reach across Romania.

In a statement, the company says it is keen to develop mid- and long-term maintenance agreements in addition to current annual ones.

The aerospace company moved into MRO activities 13 years ago and has airline customers across Europe, the Middle East and Africa and counts the likes of Royal Air Maroc and Pegasus Airlines among its current customers.

Last year, Aerostar says it completed a total of 80 C-checks and D-checks at its main base in Bacau.
