AFI KLM E&M Announces Deals With Air Zimbabwe And EgyptAir M&E

AFI KLM Engineering and Maintenance (AFI KLM E&M) has announced a new contract with Air Zimbabwe and the extension of a co-operation agreement with EgyptAir Maintenance and Engineering (EgyptAir M&E). The Air Zimbabwe contract, which is the outcome of a technical and commercial partnership with South African Airways (SAA) Technical, covers component support for two A320 aircraft, plus the maintenance and repair of their CFM56-5A and -5B engines. Services provided by AFI KLM E&M will include pool access, per-flight-hour repairs and the provision of a main base kit which will be located first at Johannesburg and later at Harare. The deal initially signed by EgyptAir M&E and AFI KLM E&M in 2004 to cover EgyptAir’s Airbus aircraft has been extended to encompass 777 aircraft as well as A320s and A330s.
