AFI KLM E&M Extends Transavia 737 Component Contract

Air France-KLM Engineering & Maintenance (AFI KLM E&M) has signed an extension to its contract with Transavia providing the Dutch low-cost carrier with component support on its 737 fleet.

The agreement, part of AFI KLM E&M’s jointly operated component services programme with Boeing, covers parts maintenance and flexible availability solutions, including the management of components under a flight hour rate.

Arnold Boot, director of purchasing and logistics at Amsterdam-based Transavia, said a combination of AFI KLM E&M’s flexibility and lowering its future maintenance costs were the main factors in its decision to renew the contract.

Transavia currently operates a fleet of 34 737s with 27 of the aircraft on order.
