Air Canada has signed agreements with three partners to establish an aircraft maintenance centre of excellence in Manitoba.
The flag carrier has agreed cooperations for its Western Canada Centre of Excellence with Hope Aero Propeller & Components, a specialist in propellers, wheels, brakes and batteries.
The second contract is with Airbase Services, which specialises in aircraft interior equipment repair and maintenance.
The third is with Cargojet Airways, which will establish its own repair and maintenance activities. All three firms are expected to commence operating in 2017.
Air Canada’s announcement follows confirmation in February 2016 that it would help support the development of centres of excellence for aircraft maintenance in the provinces of Manitoba and Quebec.
