Airframe Parts Added to SR Technics, VAS Aero Services Materials Program

Expanded agreement will cover exchange and repairs for components on several Airbus and Boeing aircraft.

Swiss MRO SR Technics has signed a new partnership with U.S. logistics and aftermarket services provider VAS Aero Services covering aircraft components exchange and repair services for Airbus and Boeing aircraft.

The contract, which will run for eight years, is the first material supply partnership signed by SR Technics’ specialist Component Services business unit with a non-OEM company. The Zurich-based division specializes in parts support services for Airbus A320 family, A330 and A340 aircraft, Boeing 737, 757, 777 and 787 aircraft and Embraer-manufactured 170 and 190 aircraft.

Previously, SR Technics worked with Boca-Raton, Florida-headquartered VAS Aero Services on engine component services. The parties signed their original material supply agreement in 2010 and later extended it in June 2017. Both parties said the expansion of their collaboration into airframe parts “aims to leverage the strengths of both companies.”

“Our new partnership with VAS marks a transition in the way we provide services to our customers,” says Jean-Marc Lenz, chief operating officer at SR Technics said in a statement released Dec. 11.

“The signing of the agreement is just the first step down the path of streamlining our operations, retaining our competitive edge, and providing reliable and efficient component services to more airline customers in the future,” Lenz added.
