Chinese MRO Ameco Beijing is overhauling two PW4000 engines for UAE-based MRO firm ACCL Airmotive Services.
The work is the first Ameco has undertaken for a client in the Middle East. Ameco Beijing, a joint venture between Lufthansa and Air China, has now taken delivery of the first PW4000 at its workshop at Beijing Capital International Airport after signing the overhaul deal last year.
Currently Ameco provides services on PW4000 and RB211 engines, but is expanding its capabilities to include the V2500.
Alongside announcing the ACCL deal, Ameco confirmed that its team has completed “hands-on” training on the V2500 and was expecting its first engine for overhaul from Air China “very soon”.
