American Airlines To Build Hangar In Brazil

American Airlines plans to break ground on a line maintenance hangar at Sao Paulo–Guarulhos International Airport later this year.

An airline spokesperson says the airline started performing line maintenance on aircraft in Sao Paulo in 2016, because about “half a dozen” aircraft were parked there for up to 12 hr.

The hangar would get technicians and “aircraft out of the weather,” but would be limited to line work, the spokesperson said.

American would only perform maintenance services for itself.
