AMES Plans To Expand Nacelle Repair Services

Aerostructures Middle East Services (AMES) will expand its jet engine nacelle repair capabilities as the joint venture of Safran’s Aircelle and Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance builds on two years of operation from its technical base in Dubai. AMES supports airlines in the Middle East, the Gulf Arab states and South Asia and can accommodate the region’s large nacelles and thrust reversers for Engine Alliance GP7200s that power A380s, and the GE90 engines used on 777s. Nacelle and thrust reverser services for Rolls-Royce Trent 700 and 500 engines are also supported by AMES’ core business profile as well as the A340 and A320 families’ CFM56 power plants. In addition to its in-shop repair and overhaul base in Dubai, AMES has also developed on-wing support activities.
