ATS To Help Qantas Improve MRO

US MRO Aviation Technical Services (ATS) has signed a deal with ailing Australian carrier Qantas to help overhaul the airline’s maintenance programme. The engineering services agreement will see ATS provide Qantas with advice on how to improve the efficiency of its 737 maintenance and cut costs, with the MRO looking at personnel and materials. Qantas’ executive manager of engineering, Chris Nassenstein, said: “Aircraft maintenance programmes constantly evolve and there is a point in time where years of addressing potential concerns inherently get embedded into each and every check. We want to step back and reassess what and how we should be managing our maintenance programme.”
