Pratt & Whitney (P&W) has named New Zealand-based MRO Christchurch Engine Centre as an authorised maintenance provider for the PW1100G engine.
Christchurch Engine Centre, a joint venture between P&W and Air New Zealand, is EASA and FAA certified and services V2500-A1, -A5 and -D5 engines, as well as 737 and 767 aircraft.
PW1100G programme partners MTU and JAEC have also been named as part of the OEM’s MRO network for the geared turbofan engine.
P&W has confirmed that other facilities in Asia, Europe and North America will be ready to support the engine when it enters into service.
The news came as Air New Zealand selected the PW1100G for its order of 13 A320neos.
