Darchem Engineering Builds North East Facility

Darchem Engineering, a precision fabrication firm, has started work on an £8m investment at its North East manufacturing facility. The project, which is supported by a £1m grant from the UK government’s Regional Growth Fund, is in its first phase of building the 75,000ft2 factory on a brownfield site next to the firm’s main factory in Stillington, Stockon-on-Tees. The investment was prompted by an increased demand for Darchem Engineering’s precision products, particularly for large scale nuclear fabrications, the company said. Darchem also produces specialist metal fabrications; fire protection and insulation products for the aerospace; nuclear; defence; oil and gas; and automotive industries.
