New appointment replaces retiring Charles Champion.

Airbus has appointed Jean-Brice Dumont as head of engineering for its commercial aircraft division.

Dumont will join the Toulouse-headquartered OEM on September 1, 2017 and eventually replace the retiring Charles Champion from December 2017 following a transition period.

He moves across from his role as executive vice president engineering and chief technical officer at Airbus’ helicopters unit which he has held since 2012.

Upon commencement of the role, Dumont will become a member of the Airbus Commercial Aircraft Management Committee.
