EIB To Lend EADS €200m

The European Investment Bank (EIB) is to provide €200m ($260M) in financing for EADS  to research methods of reducing aviation emissions (CO2, nitrogen) and noise. EADS will look at aeronautics design and production, including aerodynamics and flight systems. The loan is the second tranche of a deal signed in August 2011; EIB has already delivered €500m ($648m) to the company. The arrangement is one of the first major European loans since the member states allowed EIB to stimulate the economy by increasing its capital by €10bn ($13bn).
