Eirtech Aviation Services has extended its EASA Part 145 maintenance organization approval certification to include its composite repair center in Belfast.
Because of the approval’s greater scope, Eirtech will now be able to vary out composites repair at Belfast with capability listing MOE 1.9 and issue an EASA Form 1 on-site, the company said on Wednesday (Jan. 9). The Belfast facility is one of four operated globally by Eirtech, which along with its headquarters in Shannon, runs centers in Dublin and Singapore.
The Irish services company's Part 145 approved maintenance organization holds wide-ranging composites repair capabilities for C6, C8 and C20 rating components. These include slats, wing to body fairings, engine fan cowls and thrust reversers found on Boeing 737, 757, 767 and 777 aircraft, as well as Airbus A320 and A330 aircraft.
In addition to the Part 145 extension, the new year has also seen Eirtech announce a new supplemental type certificate (STC) by the European regulator. The STC approves the installation of seats in any configuration on Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft in a zero seats configuration.
Eirtech says the STC is of interest to airlines and aircraft leasing companies who are having the aircraft type delivered into Europe with no seats installed.
