Embraer Selects UTC For Second Generation E-Jets

UTC Aerospace Systems has won a contract with Embraer to provide electric power generation and distribution systems for the second generation of E-Jets, scheduled to enter into service in 2018. The company will supply the main and auxiliary electric power generators; main and secondary electric power distribution; emergency electric generation system, batteries and converters for the aircraft. It will also supply the main wheel, nose wheel and carbon breaks. Embraer also selected Pratt & Whitney AeroPower’s APS2600 auxiliary power unit (APU) to provide aircraft with secondary power in the form of high pressure air for main engine starting, cabin air conditioning and electric power while on the ground.
