FADEC Alliance Becomes LEAP Supplier

FADEC Alliance, a joint venture between FADEC International (Sagem-BAE Systems) and GE, has been named by CFM as an international supplier for the LEAP engine family. The JV was created in Q4 2012 to help GE become more involved in the production of Full-Authority Digital Electronic Controls (FADECs), used in new engines.  It will now market the fourth-generation FADECs set to equip CFM International’s three LEAP engines.  Sagem-BAE Systems will oversee the engine control unit (ECU) development, production and maintenance within FADEC Alliance, while GE will look after funding and specifications; the JV itself will manage and market aftermarket products and services.
