Finding Options To Meet ADS-B Out Requirements

Aviation Week’s list of avionics companies and MRO services that help companies prepare for the FAA’s 2020 ADS-B Out mandate.

The FAA has mandated that aircraft operating in most controlled U.S. airspace be equipped with Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) “Out” by 2020. Below is a list of avionics companies and MRO services that help companies prepare for this update.

1. ADS-B Product Line

Company: L-3 Avionics Systems

Product: Lynx Line of ADS-B Products

Specifications: This year, L-3 Aviation Systems launched its Lynx MultiLink Surveillance System line of ADS-B products. This family of products comprises four models, including an ADS-B In/Out model with a Wi-Fi display option for personal electronic devices and models for the display of ADS-B information on dedicated cockpit multifunction displays. The Lynx NGT-9000 model includes a touchscreen display that is a form-factor replacement for existing transponders. The unit also supports 1090ES (Mode S Extended Squitter) ADS-B Out and 1090 MHz and 978 MHz ADS-B In. All Lynx models provide ADS-B Out compliance to FAA 14 CFR 91.227.
