IFS Begins Maintenix Rollout For ATSG, Sees Acquisition Impact

The software specialist acquired Canada’s Mxi Technologies in early-2017.

IFS has started the rollout of its Maintenix fleet maintenance management software at U.S. airline group ATSG’s two cargo carrier subsidiaries ABX Air and Air Transport International along with its aircraft leasing subsidiary Cargo Aircraft Management.

Matt Tobin, vice president of marketing and sales, aviation & defense at IFS, says the project began last month with the implementation process set to take around 17 months.

It will entail IFS implemented a full suite of engineering, planning and line maintenance functions covering the fleets of all three ATSG cargo and leasing subsidiaries.

Since finalizing the acquisition of Maintenix developers Mxi Technologies in January 2017, IFS brought a team of roughly 300 Mxi employees into the organization. While no financial details have been published, IFS says to date, Mxi contributed “significantly” to its revenue growth last year.

Along with the ATSG which was signed in 2017 but announced earlier this month, IFS says it signed up two other new North America-based customers for its maintenance software. These included regional carrier PSA Airlines and a soon to be named North American airline. The North American contracts were signed in addition to pre-existing customers in the Europe, South America and Asia regions.

“The IFS A&D unit will continue to pursue business in all these areas and foresees growth both within and outside North America,” Tobin says of the company’s future plans.
