Alaska Airlines, the Seattle-based airline, also has hubs in Anchorage, Alaska; Los Angeles; and Portland, Oregon. Alaska Air Group's acquisition of Virgin America is expected to close at the end of the fourth quarter of 2016, reports Aviation Daily. The current fleet consists of 154 aircraft, including 61 Boeing 737-800s and 44 Boeing 737-900ERs.
