Iran To Ban Aircraft Over 20 Years Old

The Iran Civil Aviation Organization (IRCAO) is set to issue a directive banning commercial aircraft that are more than 20 years old from service. IRCAO will monitor flights in Iranian airspace to ensure compliance with the rules. The directive will impact numerous carriers in the region which have older fleets due to years of international sanctions. Following some relaxation of sanctions earlier this year, the head of IRCAO said that Iran would buy 400 aircraft in the next 10 years if it was able to.
