Lufthansa Technik (LHT) has won a 12-year contract to provide component support for Finnair’s forthcoming fleet of A350s. The carrier is set to be the first in Europe to operate Airbus’ all-new widebody, with four of its 19 aircraft order set to enter service in the second half of the year. While Finnair’s MRO teams will provide line-maintenance on the aircraft, under the new “total component support” contract LHT will provide repair services on components and access to spares. The deal is the first component maintenance contract that LHT has secured for the A350. Finnair also has MRO contracts with LHT covering component service for its fleet of V2500 engines and APS3200 auxiliary power units.
