Lufthansa Technik Expands Wizz Air A320, A321neo Support Contracts

Hungarian low-cost carrier Wizz Air has expanded two technical support agreements with Lufthansa Technik (LHT) covering A320 family and A321neo aircraft.

The expanded contract, which will run until 2022, will now include Cyclean engine washes for the Wizz Air V2500 engine fleet, along with aircraft component supply and aircraft overhaul as part of the German firm’s Total Component Support offering.

Overhaul work is scheduled to take place at the Lufthansa Technik Budapest facility in Hungary.

Heiko Holm, technical director at Wizz Air, said: “We have developed a stable and fruitful cooperation over the past twelve years and our new agreement underlines our commitment to this partnership as we continue to treat aircraft maintenance with highest priority and ensure to cooperate with the best-in-class service providers.”

Wizz Air’s current fleet of A320s and A321s stands at around 72 aircraft, with a firm order in place for 110 A321neo with deliveries scheduled to begin in 2019.
