Macquarie Diversifies With CSeries

Lessor Macquarie AirFinance has ordered 40 CS300 aircraft from Bombardier and signed a deal for a further 10 options.

The deal will increase Macquarie’s fleet by close to 30 per cent and diversify its mix of aircraft models; currently the fleet is made up mainly of A320 and 737NG aircraft.

Under the deal, Bombardier is set to deliver the 100-149 seat CSeries in a two-year phased rollout from 2017. The new order comes just weeks after Swedish lessor and carrier Braathens backed out as the jet’s launch customer.
