MAEL Completes Sharklet Installation

Monarch Aircraft Engineering (MAEL) has completed the first installation of a set of ‘Sharklet’ wing tip devices on an A320 aircraft in the UK. The work was carried out in MAEL’s new facility in Birmingham and was completed within two days. Sharklets are intended to lower fuel burn by up to four per cent, reduce carbon emissions, and extend an aircraft’s service life.
