Coatings manufacturer Mapaero has signed a contract for UK-based PSG to act as an exclusive distributor in the UK.
The deal was signed yesterday (May 27) at MRO Network's ap&m Europe expo in London marking the first official agreement between the two firms who have worked together for more than four years.
Mapaero manufactures airframe coatings for Airbus, Bombardier and Embraer aircraft and are specialists in the development of water-based systems.
Pierre Boyat, sales and marketing director at Mapaero, said the deal was "significant" as it builds on an agreement that accounts for 50 per cent of the French firm's business in the UK.
"The deal made sense in terms of product range for PSG as they have been in paint distribution for several years and for us it is very important to sign partnerships with firms that know paint technologies," he said. "In aerospace, this is a niche market where knowledgeable people are hard to come by."
Keith O’Dell, general manager of PSG, commented: “We are delighted to be appointed by Mapaero who we consider to be the leaders in water based paint system technology.
“The help and support received from Simon and the rest of the Mapaero team is a credit to their company and we look forward to a continued strong working relationship."
