MAS And RRPF Strike Spare Engine Deal

Malaysia Airlines (MAS) and Rolls-Royce & Partners Finance (RRPF) have finalised a sale-and-leaseback deal covering four Trent 900 spare engines with a value of $90m, at 2013 list prices. The engines will be kept as spares to support Malaysia Airlines’ fleet of A380 aircraft. The relationship between MAS and RRPF stretches back to 1998, with a spare engine sale-and-leaseback transaction for the airline's Trent 800 and RB211-524D4 spare engines for 777 and 747 aircraft.
