Rhinestahl CTS Opens Derby Operations Center

Rhinestahl CTS has opened a new Operations Center in Derby, UK which it says will serve a growing customer base and supply chain across Western Europe. The company says the new center will provide responsive support, technical expertise and local assistance across the region.

Alaska Airlines Trialing AAR’s Airvolution Platform

Alaska Airlines has signed on for a digital trial of AAR’s Airvolution platform for repair cycle management. The airline is hoping to use the cloud-based platform to enhance efficiency, reduce turnaround times and ensure maximum component availability.

Joramco Signs Base Maintenance Agreement With MNG Airlines

Joramco has signed a new base maintenance agreement with Turkish cargo carrier MNG airlines. Under the agreement, Joramco will perform three C-checks on two Airbus A300s and one A330 aircraft within the carrier’s fleet between Dec. 2019-Feb. 2020.

Joramco Signs Base Maintenance Agreement With Ryanair

Joramco has signed its first base maintenance agreement with Ryanair to perform heavy checks on its Boeing 737NG fleet. The carrier has booked two parallel lines at Joramco’s facility for the upcoming winter season, which lasts from Nov. 2019-March 2020.

LHT Partners With Collins on A380 Landing Gear MRO

Lufthansa Technik has signed an agreement to become Collins Aerospace’s A380 main landing gear MRO licensee. Under the agreement, LHT will develop MRO capabilities for the A380 main landing gear while Collins will provide training, parts and proprietary repair procedures.

Safran Chooses Onsight AR Platform

Safran has selected Librestream’s Onsight augmented reality platform for remote customer support, internal services and manufacturing. According to Safran, Onsight will help its customers benefit from a plug-and-play solution for remote diagnostics, assistance and training.

Liebherr-Aerospace to Provide ATR Maintenance Support

Liebherr-Aerospace has signed a 10-year agreement with ATR covering supply of components, repairs and associated pay-by-the-hour services for more than 300 ATR42/72-600 aircraft. Liebherr will perform maintenance support services in Toulouse, Singapore and Saline, Michigan, including predictive maintenance services.

CFM Materials Wants More Warehouse Capacity

CFM Materials, a USM provider for the CFM56 engine, is looking for around 50% more warehouse space due to the anticipated number of engine parts coming its way over the next four to six years, says Bill Correll, president and CEO at CFM Materials.

KLM UK Engineering Signs Up SAS for 737 Heavy Maintenance

KLM UK Engineering will commence heavy maintenance work with Scandinavian Airlines System from its Norwich base on the airline’s Boeing 737NG fleet from 2020. KLM UK Engineering have previously worked with SAS, providing heavy maintenance support on their Fokker 50 fleet.

Inflite MRO Services Wins Spairliners E-Jet Parts Contract

Inflite MRO-Services, part of the Inflite Group, has signed a long-term contract with Lufthansa Technik-AFI KLM E&M joint venture Spairliners to handle component repair work on Embraer E-Jet 170 and 190 aircraft. When work is set to commence in 2020, Inflite will be supporting a wide range of E-Jet rotable components for Spairliners’ E-Jet customers, including difficult to transport and hazardous items.  Work will be carried out at its facility at London Southend Airport.

Airways Aviation Group Acquires ESMA

Airways Aviation Group has acquired French aviation education and training organization ESMA (Ecole Supérieure des Métiers del'Aéronautique). ESMA is an EASA authorized training organization offering Part 145, 147 and CAMO courses, which Airways Aviation Group says will help it tackle expected industry growth over the next 15 years.

SR Technics Wins Engine MRO Contract with Ukraine International Airlines

SR Technics has won a seven-year exclusive engine maintenance contract with Ukraine International Airlines covering a minimum of 34 CFM56-7B shop visits. The airline has had a continuous partnership with SR Technics since April 2017, when it signed a five-year contract for integrated component services for its Boeing 737NG fleet.

Embraer Achieves Asia Milestone for Its Pool Program

Embraer has announced that all E-Jet operators in Asia-Pacific have enrolled in its Pool Program, which offers full repair coverage for components and parts, airframe maintenance and unlimited access to a large stock of components. Currently, there are 60 E-Jets operated by six airlines across Asia-Pacific.

Lufthansa Technik Chooses dentCHECK For Damage Mapping

Lufthansa Technik has chosen 8tree’s dentCHECK system for damage mapping and reporting across its base maintenance facilities and in other product divisions. LHT says it chose dentCHECK for its user-friendliness and performance after testing it along with several dent-mapping technologies at its Innovation Bay at LHT Malta.

Spirit Airlines Selects TRAX eMobility Apps for Fleet Maintenance

Spirit Airlines has selected TRAX eMobility Apps to increase efficiency and reduce transaction times for fleet maintenance and aircraft turnarounds. The carrier expects the apps, which are fully integrated with its Trax Maintenance and Engineering system, to increase productivity and decrease maintenance costs.

Falgayras Becomes Barfield Authorized Repair Center

French OEM Falgayras has signed an agreement to become a Barfield authorized repair center in Europe, which follows Barfield becoming a distributor of Falgayras’ aircraft on-board equipment last year. The latest agreement covers the repair and calibration of several Barfield ground support and testing equipment products, including Air Data/Pitot Static and Turbine Temperature.

Joramco Signs B787 MRO Agreement With Kenya Airways

Joramco has signed a heavy maintenance agreement with Kenya Airways to perform out-of-phase checks for six of its Boeing 787 aircraft. The MRO provider will also perform major modification tasks related to upgrading IFE wiring systems and oxygen module PSUs.

Lufthansa Technik Breaks Into Chinese Inflight Internet

Lufthansa Technik (LHT) has signed a contract with Honeywell, China Satcom and Chinese service provider Air Esurfing Information Technology Co. to bring what it says is the first inflight internet to the Chinese market. Under the five-year agreement, LHT will design and certify Ka-band based connectivity retrofit packages for the Airbus A320ceo/neo families and the Boeing 737NG/MAX. It will also handle material supply and handling services for installation of the packages, which it says can be tailored to airline customers’ specific requirements.

FL Technics Becomes Langa Industrial Representative

FL Technics has signed an agreement to become an exclusive representative for GSE manufacturer Langa Industrial. The MRO provider will exclusively represent the company across more than 30 countries in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia.

Volo Aero MRO To Provide Rolls-Royce T56 Services

Rolls-Royce and Volo Aero MRO have signed a 10-year agreement covering support of T56 single engine piece part maintenance and overhaul services. The Massachusetts-based MRO offers more than 50 individual repairs for the engine type and says it continues to develop additional repairs for Rolls-Royce’s Authorized Maintenance Center (AMC) and Authorized Military Overhaul Facilities (AMOF) network to meet their requirements.

HAECO Xiamen Celebrates Milestone

HAECO Xiamen recently celebrated its 350th aircraft redelivery to All Nippon Airways, which took place after completing a maintenance check on one of the carrier’s Boeing 777 aircraft.

Pacific Propeller International Chosen for Propeller Repair and Overhaul

Dowty Propellers has selected Pacific Propeller International (PPI) as an authorized repair and overhaul facility for CASA 212, Jetstream 31 and Metro/Merlin propellers. Under the agreement, Dowty Propellers will provide training, technical data, equipment and support to help establish new repair and overhaul capability. It will also provide engineering and technical assistance and perform specialized repair processes to support PPI’s ongoing maintenance operations.
