KLM UK Engineering to Provide Heavy MRO to Aurigny Air Services

KLM UK Engineering has signed an airframe maintenance contract with Aurigny Air Services covering heavy maintenance on Embraer 195 aircraft. According to Aurigny Air Services, the MRO will perform service out of its base maintenance facility in Norwich, UK.

Lufthansa Technik Malta Begins A350 MRO

Lufthansa Technik Malta has begun performing technical services for three customers on Airbus A350 aircraft, including cabin modifications and C checks. The MRO received German Federal Aviation Office certification for A350-1000 aircraft in August, which follows certification LHT Malta received last year for the A350-900.

AAR Expands BAE Systems Component Services

AAR has expanded its component repair agreement with BAE Systems Regional Aircraft to encompass more parts for its regional jet support programs. The original contract began in January 2019 and the additional components were added last month. Repairs are carried out at AAR’s facility in Amsterdam.

Carlisle Awarded SATCOM STC for Boeing 777s

Carlisle Interconnect Technologies (CIT) has been awarded an FAA STC for the installation of satellite communications provisions on Boeing 777-300/300ER series aircraft. The STC allows for the installation of structural provisions and the outside aircraft equipment package for a cabin upgrade incorporating a dual-band KA/KU terminal.

S.A.F.E. Designing Custom Engine Maintenance Stand

S.A.F.E. Structure Designs is partnering with Airflow Solutions to design and manufacture a custom engine maintenance stand for Rolls-Royce RB211-535 engines. According to S.A.F.E., Airflow will take delivery of the first engine work stand in December.

Airbase to Manufacture Seat Covers for Acro

Trenchard Aviation Group’s cabin products arm Airbase has won a contract to manufacture Ultra-Leather seat covers for Acro. The contract comes as a result of Acro’s commission to provide new seats for Spirit Airlines.

Vallair’s Annual Shop Haul

Between 55 to 60 aircraft pass through the doors of Vallair’s Montpellier shop annually to undergo MRO and paint services.

Joramco Obtains EN9110 Certification

Joramco says it has become the first independent MRO in the Middle East and Northern Africa region to receive EN9110:2018 certification. The certification demonstrates that an MRO meets the requirements of its customers and regulatory bodies through the documented implementation of a quality management system that specifically addresses the needs of the industry. Joramco says the certification enables it to grow its efficiency, productivity and competence.

Avolon’s Q3 Fleet

Avolon reported that its owned, managed and committed fleet totals 914 aircraft, as of the end of the third quarter. This equates to a 3% increase since the same period last year. Of the 914, 527 are owned and managed—with 387 on order. Avolon executed 21 lease transactions and sold 10 aircraft during the quarter.

HAECO Cabin Solutions Expands ODA Team

HAECO Cabin Solutions has expanded its Organization Designation Authorization (ODA) team by hiring Meredith Frazier as a cabin safety ODA unit member, where she will help ensure all interior products on commercial aircraft comply with FAA standards. HAECO says the expanded ODA team will be better able to certify, test and approve the installation of its products, which will provide customers more scheduling flexibility, shorter turnaround times and less aircraft downtime.

Viasat Inflight Connectivity System Receives FAA STC

Viasat’s dual-band (Ku-Ka) business aviation inflight connectivity system has received an FAA STC for its use on Bombardier Global 5000/6000/GEX family aircraft. Viasat says operators and MROs supporting Bombardier Global aircraft can work directly with StandardAero to install the system.

Jet Aviation Opens New Teterboro Hangar

Jet Aviation has opened a new 40,000 ft.2 hangar and renovated FBO in Teterboro, NJ to help meet growing demand for long-range business jets. The company is working on construction and renovation at six regional locations in the U.S. and Caribbean, including a new FBO and hangar complex in Van Nuys, California and hangar expansions in San Juan, Puerto Rico and West Palm Beach, Florida.

Alternative Parts Program

Wencor Group and PT Garuda Maintenance Facility Aero Asia have agreed to develop a total material solutions program. The agreement outlines the general framework for the development and adoption of alternate parts usage, designated engineering representative repairs and maintenance kits.

Pratt & Whitney Digitalization

Pratt & Whitney’s digital transformation strategy will over a three-year pilot program transform 15 facilities around the world by 2022.

777 at Sheremetyevo

Volga-Dnepr Technics Moscow has received EASA approval for the maintenance of Boeing 777-200s and -300s at Sheremetyevo Airport.
