Shannon MRO Capabilities Grow Steadily
In Shannon, Ireland, three facilities now provide base maintenance and modification work. One company, Lufthansa Technik Shannon, from six to up to 10 base maintenance lines, added a second hangar dedicated to aircraft transitions and modifications. LHT Shannon has also added Boeing 787 capability and is doing maintenance on European 787s and 777s. Atlantic Aviation Group has also added capacity at the site to service new aircraft types.
S7 Technics Triples CFM56 Engine Repair Capabilities
Russian MRO S7 Technics tripled its CFM56 engine repair capabilities by launching its second repair shop at its southern base at Mineralnye Vody Airport. The shop, which has multiple repair capabilities, can simultaneously service up to four CFM56 engines.
StandardAero Expands Engine Capabilities in France
Engine repair specialist StandardAero is growing its capabilities and staff in France to meet increased engine demand within the Europe Middle East and Africa regions. At its Gonesse facility in Paris, the company has introduced on-site service center capability while also bolstering its mobile repair technician team with new hires.
Delta TechOps Adds Facilities, Capabilities for Next-Gen Engines
Having opened its new Atlanta facility in February of this year, Delta TechOps Delta will accommodate the Rolls-Royce XWBs and Trent 7000s that power the airline’s fleet of Airbus A350s and A330-900neos. The facility also includes the world's largest Rolls-Royce engine test cell.
Air Astana Builds MRO Capabilities, Third-Party Line Work
In addition to its main maintenance center in Almaty, Kazakhstan's national carrier recently completed a new technical center in Astana which combines a modern hangar and offices. The hangar can house a Boeing 787 or combination of other aircraft in our fleet. The carrier also plans to open further line stations later this year due to fleet and route growth.
Vallair To Expand Engine Service Capabilities
Vallair plans to expand its engine business unit’s repair and teardown capabilities to include the CFM International CFM56-5B and IAE V2500. The additional engines will add to its current CFM56-7B repair, leasing, inventory and teardown service offerings.
TS&S, Honeywell Sign MoU For New MRO Capabilities
Abu Dhabi-based engine repair specialist Turbine Services and Solutions signed a memorandum of understanding with avionics giant Honeywell in February to collaborate on MRO services for Honeywell manufactured auxillary power units (APUs). The APU covered is the Honeywell 131-9, part of the family found on Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 aircraft.
Jat To Support Latest Boeing, Airbus Types
Jat Tehnika’s aircraft maintenance center in Belgrade, Serbia, is planning to train its staff to maintain Boeing 737 MAXs, the Airbus A320neo family and Sukhoi SSJ-100 Superjets.
