MTU Aero Engines is to provide MRO services for GE Aviation’s GEnx turbine centre frame (TCF) as a part of GE’s MRO Network.
The agreement, estimated to be worth around $3.7bn in sales to MTU, will see MTU provide MRO services for the TCF across the engine’s lifecycle.
The GEnx powers the 787 family aircraft and the 747-8.
The new contract builds on the existing partnership between GE and MTU, which manufactures the GEnx’s TCF as part of a risk and revenue-sharing programme with GE.
In July, MTU signed a similar deal for the GE9X programme.
