Parker Hannifin subsidiary Parker Aerospace (Parker) has secured a contract to provide the Aviation Industry Corporation of China’s (AVIC) aircraft company to supply flight control actuation and hydraulic systems for the new MA700 regional aircraft.
Under the agreement, Parker will design and manufacture the hydraulic systems and provide fly-by-wire actuators for the twin turboprop. The new supply contract builds on a long-standing relationship between the two companies, which are also forming two joint ventures in China.
The first Parker FACRI Actuation Systems, based in Xi’an, will develop the flight control actuation system for the COMAC C919, as well as assembling and testing MA700’s flight control systems. It will also include a repair centre that will service Parker Aerospace, AVIC and third-party products.
The second company is NEIAS Parker Aero Systems & Equipment, which is headquartered in Neijing and is to develop the COMAC C919’s fuel, inerting and hydraulic systems, as well as assembling and testing the MA700’s hydraulic systems.
