Florida-headquartered aftermarket specialist PEMCO World Air Services has confirmed an agreement to carry out passenger-to-freighter conversion work on three Boeing 737-300 aircraft operated by Chinese carrier YTO Cargo Airlines.
Work will be carried at the facility of Taikoo (Shandong) Aircraft Engineering Company (STAECO) at its facility in Jinan Yaoqiang Airport.
YTO currently operates one 737-300 aircraft converted by PEMCO, and will take redelivery of the three PTF jets in late 2017.
“PEMCO was selected based on our experience with their product,” said Bruce Lee of Hangzhou-based YTO. “We are pleased with the performance and recognize the operating economics to support our goal to be the ‘Choice of the Chinese’.”
PEMCO, which was acquired last month by Ohio-based Air Transport Services Group, said the latest contract is a continuation of its efforts to build relationships and market share in China.
