P&W Launches MRO Network

Pratt & Whitney has confirmed it will work with its partners on the PW1000G programme in creating a global network of maintenance and repair facilities. Japanese firms Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and IHI Aerospace and Germany’s MTU Aero Engines have all committed to having engine centres operational when the PW1000G comes into service.

P&W has confirmed that five engine overhaul centres have been selected so far, and that they will in Asia, Europe and North America, although has not commented on exactly where the centres will be located.
