SR Technics to Provide Engine MRO for Eurowings

The two-year agreement involves engine MRO solutions for CFM56-5B engines within the low-cost carrier’s fleet.

SR Technics has signed a two-year engine MRO agreement with Eurowings, Lufthansa Group’s low-cost carrier. The agreement, which was signed at the end of June 2018, covers MRO solutions along with full parts and material management for more than 30 CFM56-5B engines within Eurowings’ fleet.

According to SR Technics, all work will be completed at its Zurich Airport facility. The Swiss MRO provider says there is “plenty of room for synergies with other areas of SR Technics moving forward,” since Eurowings is “a major player among Europe’s low-cost carriers.”

SR Technics’ cooperation with the airline began in January of this year. According to the company, this entailed providing Eurowings with single engine shop visit offers to customize its services in an effort to meet the carrier’s demands. SR Technics says this action and its continuous support, along with combined slots that met Eurowings’ needs, were key to winning the contract.
