ST Aero To Use 3D Printing In VIP Refit

Singapore-based MRO ST Aerospace has won a contract for a nose-to-tail cabin VIP refit of a widebody aircraft. The refurbishment will be undertaken by its AERIA Luxury Interiors division and will include installing a private suite and a bathroom. AERIA has confirmed it will use a 3D printer to create some of the cabin features, including a custom ceiling. The firm is set to receive the aircraft shortly and plans to redeliver it before the end of 2016. The news came as ST Aerospace published its Q2 results, which revealed that while revenue was up six per cent on the same period in 2013, its profits had fallen 14 per cent.
