STS Further Expands Modifications Business

STS AeroMod unveiled just two weeks after the Florida-based MRO launched new modifications business STS Mod Center.

STS Aviation has added another modifications arm to its existing offering by launching STS AeroMod to conduct mobile aircraft modification services.

The new division, which STS said is an extension of the AeroMod unit it unveiled in early September, will deploy specialists on aircraft modification projects to oversee them from concept to completion.

Available services will include interior reconfiguration, in-seat power installation, IFEC installation and a number of mandated flight safety products such as ADS-B and GPS upgrades.

In a statement released Thursday (Sept. 21), STS confirmed the business will be overseen by Daniel Burgess, senior vice president of STS AeroMod, who says demand for more customized aircraft modification services have been steady.

“Airlines are now retaining aircraft for a longer service life, and the aviation industry is being inundated with requests to offer customizable aircraft modification packages that are tailored to individual customer needs rather than the one-size-fits-all approach that’s typically delivered by most MROs,” he said.
