STS Aviation Group subsidiary STS Line Maintenance (STSLM) has opened a new line maintenance station at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport.
The line station, which opened in July and has begun fixing aircraft, will service narrowbody and widebody aircraft operated on routes out of U.S. airports.
Mark Smith, group president of STS Line Maintenance, said the New Orleans station had been in the planning stages for the past few months.
It will operate on 24-hour basis, seven days a week and will also provide parts storage. No launch customers have been announced.
In October 2016, STS picked up many of the U.S. line stations divested by HAECO Americas’ line services division, which opted to exit line maintenance at all but one of its locations in the country.
As of August 2017, it now operates 25 U.S. line maintenance locations.
