Trent XWB Reaches Three Million Engine Flying Hours

The world’s fastest-selling widebody engine hits new milestone
Resources

The Trent XWB, the crown jewel of Rolls-Royce’s Trent engine programme, has reached three million engine flying hours. Since its first flight, the Trent XWB engine has covered more than 1.5 billion miles (roughly equivalent to flying from Earth to the sun and back eight times).

At present, more than 460 Trent XWB engines are in service, and Rolls-Royce delivers one every single day. A fine example of efficiency through engineering, the Trent XWB is also as reliable as it is sizeable – it allows the flights it powers to take off as scheduled 99.9% of the time.
