Aequs has won a contract with Airbus to supply titanium components for the A320neo aircraft.
The contract, announced on Thursday (May 12), will see Aequs manufacture more than 100,000 parts at its Belagavi facility for the A320neo’s pylon structure used to mount engines onto the aircraft’s wing.
Once made, they will be shipped to Airbus’ Toulouse assembly line.
The agreement expands on previous cooperations between the parties dating back to 2009, with Aequs supplying wing leading edge subassemblies for the A380.
Srinivasan Dwarakanath, president of Airbus in India, said the deal will help the OEM ramp-up production of the narrowbody.
