Airbus To Enhance China’s ATM

Airbus has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Air Traffic Management Bureau (ATMB) of China to modernise the country’s air traffic management (ATM) system. The agreement will focus on improving air transportation, capacity and efficiency as well as harmonising China’s ATM regionally and globally. The MoU framework contains four projects which will commence this year: air traffic flow management (ATFM); airport collaborative decision-making (A-CDM); Chengdu Airport capacity assessment and required navigation performance authorisation required (RNP AR) to instrument landing system (ILS) implementation; and ILS performance improvement at Beijing Capital Airport. The implementation of new technologies and solutions will be carried out by Airbus ProSky, the airframer’s ATM company.
