Airbus Extends A320 Assembly Partnership In China

Airbus has closed a deal with Tianjin Free Trade Zone and Aviation Industry Corporation of China that extends their joint venture to assemble A320-family aircraft for another 10 years. The manufacturer also secured an order for 43 A320s and 27 A330, from China Aviation Supplies. A second phase of the assembly JV, covering the period 2016-2025, will see an expansion of deliveries across Asia, including final assembly of the A320neo family from 2017 onwards. The partnership will also include initiatives to develop a competitive supply chain, enhancing the capacity of Chinese airspace with air traffic management (ATM) improvements, and driving research in sustainable jet fuel and other environmental initiatives.
