Boeing Expands Composite Manufacturing Capability, Utah

Boeing has announced the purchase of a new building in Salt Lake County, Utah. The facility in West Jordan will focus on the fabrication of composite horizontal stabiliser components for the 787-9. The close proximity of the new site to Boeing’s existing Salk Lake City facility, which is 20 miles away, will help to improve efficiency from component fabrication to assembly. The design and construction of the new 850,000ft2 building is expected to take two years.
