Boeing has taken the 787-9 on its first international flight, so far the longest flight in the aircraft’s test programme. The 787-9, MSN ZB002, flew direct from Seattle's Boeing Field to Auckland International Airport, on January 3. The aircraft is on its way to Alice Springs, Australia, for testing in hot weather. It is the second of three aircraft in the test programme. Boeing is on track to deliver the 787-9 to its launch customer, Air New Zealand, in mid-2014. It has a further 25 customers for the aircraft.
