Bombardier Approves Aleris’ Chinese Site

Canada's Bombardier has become the first major aircraft OEM to agree to receive aluminium from Aleris’ new plant in Zhenjiang, China. The facility opened last year, and has been awaiting certification from an OEM to begin supplying aluminium plate to the aerospace sector. The firm has been providing Bombardier with aluminium from its plant in Koblenz, Germany, and from Q4 this year will begin to send metal produced by the Zhenjian facility. Aleris claim that the Zhenjian plant is one of the first in the Asia-Pacific region to gain approval from a major aircraft OEM.
