EASA Grants ATR -600s Cold Environment Certification

The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has granted ATR certification to operate its ATR 42-600 and ATR 72-600 turboprops in temperatures as low as -45°C at take-off and landing. ATR said the certification meant its '-600' series aircraft could now fly with other ATR versions already certified to operate in particularly cold environments such as the far north of Europe, Canada and Siberia. ATR has so far received more than 300 orders for the -600 family.
