Final Tests For 777 Fuselage Technique

Boeing is almost ready to launch a new method for building 777 fuselages. The Fuselage Automated Upright Build has been in development since 2012, and is now at the final test stage. Automated, guided robots fasten the panels of the fuselage together, drilling more than 60,000 fasteners that are installed by hand in the existing production line. The process eliminates processes responsible for half the workplace injuries during 777 assembly.
