Mitsubishi Test Jet Gets Its Wings

The first test aircraft in Mitusbishi Aircraft’s Regional Jet (MRJ) programme has been fitted with wings. The fuselage and wings were mated at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries’ final assembly plant in the Aichi Prefecture region of Japan, and the firm will soon begin mounting the craft’s two Pratt & Whitney PurePower PW1200G engines. The 70–90-seat regional jet is Mitsubishi Aircraft’s first. The firm expects the jet to take its first flight in Q2 of next year and expects to make its first delivery in Q2 of 2017.
