Static strength tests for the Mitsubishi Regional Jet (MRJ) have moved from the company’s final assembly factory in Aichi Prefecture, Japan to a separate strength test facility. Tests will begin in mid-2014, and represent a crucial safety test for the MRJ. Two test aircraft are to be used for airframe tests, one for the static strength test and another for fatigue tests. Airframe tests are essential for Type and Airworthiness Certificates. Japan’s Civil Aviation Bureau will observe the tests.
