MTU Makes $1.3bn In Paris

MTU Aero Engines is celebrating the more than $1.3bn of engine orders it has received at the Paris Air Show in Le Bourget. The company says that over 75 per cent of the 1,300 engines ordered are for the PW1000G family, which MTU CEO Egon Behle says is “impressive proof that the eco-efficiency of flying is increasingly becoming a major priority, and that the geared turbofan engine has firmly established itself as the new propulsion concept in the marketplace”. In addition to the PurePower PW1000G family, the new E-Jets (E2) were the bestselling products for MTU.
