New Composite Wing Box

DAHER-SOCATA has unveiled a new composite wing box designed to reduce weight and drag on aircraft. The company has spent five years researching the new technology, called ECOWINGBOX. The wing box, designed for business aircraft, has benefitted from an improved production cycle which includes out-of-autoclave technology and the automated machining of parts. The company also hopes to further develop the robotised finishing used on the project. ECOWINGBOX received financial backing from the French government and the Pays de la Loire region.
